Aliph Jawbone 2 Review

The Aliph Jawbone was the king of all bluetooth headsets in its time. There were high expectations from the Aliph Jawbone 2 naturally, and well it actually surpassed them all. We have a new king here and it deserves its throne to the fullest. The Aliph Jawbone 2 is a super stylish headset with a flawless design. It is very compact and light with dimensions of 2″ x 0.5″ x 0.5″ and weighs just 10 grams. It is actually 50% smaller than the original Jawbone headset. The Aliph Jawbone 2 has a very elegant design with a diamond pattern and has sturdy build quality. The buttons completely gel in with the design and add to its appeal.

On the technical side, it has awesome sound quality with superior noise cancellation technology which Aliph calls the ‘Noise Assasin’. It very efficiently amplifies your voice and cancels out all ambient noise. It has a very minimal, but functional interface with just two buttons, the ‘Talk’ button and the ‘Noise Assasin’ button, but nevertheless does its job quite efficiently. You can turn of Noise Assasin and adjust the volume manually using the same button. The lack of more buttons to control the interface and a volume rocker do hurt sometimes but style does come at a price. It also comes with a ‘Voice Activity Sensor’ that is very instrumental in improving the sound quality. It also has an LED indicator on top of the Talk button. The LED flashes red or white to indicate active calls, charging status etc. It also comes with additional features like voice command support, call waiting support, and a low-battery status indicator.

The Aliph Jawbone 2 comes with a range of accessories – different sized ear pieces and ear hooks to suit the headset to almost all ears. It is one of the most comfortable headsets I have encountered. It has a rated talk time of 4 hours and a standy time of more than 8 days. It also comes with a magnetic charging base.

Pros:

  • Stylish Design
  • Great Sound Quality
  • Superb Noise cancellation
  • Comfortable and Light weight

Cons:

  • No Volume Rocker
  • Minimal Interface with less buttons

Overall, the Aliph Jawbone 2 is one of the best bluetooth headsets ever. It has superb sound quality, awesome noise cancellation, and a stylish and flawless design. Almost all of its qualities and features are superior to other bluetooth headsets in the same range. Morever, at $ 129, it is quite affordable. We would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a stylish headset with great sound quality.

Our Rating: 4.25 / 5.
