I’m thinking of buying a Macbook, the base model. I have 3 major doubts regarding the purchase:

I have a peculiar problem which surfaces now and then. Sometimes the hard disk drive of my PC is not detected and sometimes after the PC is running Windows, the PC freezes. On starting the PC immediately after such an error the hard disk is not recognized or a message is given out that the hard disk has failed. Thereafter, if I restart the PC after a few minutes, the PC boots up as if nothing has happened. This problem crops up once every few months and lasts for atleast 10 days. How do I ascertain whether it is a SMPS problem or a CPU error or a mobo error or the obvious choice hard disk that has failed?

I have a Tsonic 840 for over 1 year. It was working great. I just love it. But today it just went dead without any reason. There was no man hand or anything. A song was playing and it just went dead.
Initially I thought it was battery low. I then charged it via usb port. But then no luck. It did come alive.
Any reports of such problems?

I am planning to buy a Laptop and need your suggestion. I will be using it to browse the net, listen to music, edit images with PhotoShop CS3,etc.
I heard that Laptops last only for about 2 or 3 hours and would like to know if there is a way to extend it for a longer time as I will need it. Also do I need to buy a Laptop fan?
I guess I will need around 1 GB RAM, around 160 GB Storage space, screen resolution of around 1280×1024, and maybe a web cam if possible

Hi,
I bought 2 500gb hd for my NAS 200. Because of its slow speeds, i decided it was best to put them back in my main tower. However to my sad surprise, windows would not recognize them. I recalled that the NAS took the liberty to format my hds to an unreadable format.
Is there a way to format them back to ntfs form? or ideally access them whilist in my pc?

Ok my next question after the FeedBurner issue.
I have a HP Compaq nx6125 laptop about 2.5 years old. I have genuine XP and mostly use open source programs/apps and have the home version of avast. I’m a bit of a stickler for updating so almost all the programs/apps i use regularly are updated. I like this laptop quite a bit actually but I have 3 problems:
1. the touch pad is not working
2. the dvd r/w is not working
3. the battery is nearly dead, and the power pack to the ac connection is giving me problems.
I think the warranty period is over and I know I can take it across to the HP service centre and get it attended to. My question is, should I? Or should I just trade this one in for a newer model?
And then, what value can I expect for a trade-in in Kolkata? And what would a upgraded similar laptop cost today?

Hello…seeking help because of my stupidity! I accidentally put a lithium battery in my Canon EOS Rebel XT and now my digital camera isn’t working at all. There was an awful burning smell after I pried out the battery. When I put in the proper battery, it doesn’t work. Did I kill it? Does anyone know if there’s something I can do? Hullo Team,
I got a big problem.
Recently my computer refused to start up which I think was a hardware problem. After several attempts to repairing it had failed, I had to put out the hard drive on to another PC and managed to retrieve some few documents and most of my VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT documents in one folder are on the same drive but when you try to open them, ACCESS IS DENIED.

I have a Sony DSC-W55 cyber shot camera that displays the word access when turned on. It beeps approximately 18 times and then tells you to shut the power off and then turn it back on again. It doesn’t want to get out of that mode. The battery is fully charged. I will try another battery to see if it is the battery and not the camera. Any idea what is going on?

Hi,
i have setup a wireless home network using a belkin wireless router. I recently purchased a 1TB nas drive. When I connect this drive to the router and run the software provided on my PC it cannot find the drive. Do i have to change any settings on the router or PC to allow it to see the NAS????

Hi, I contacted through the orkut, ok. i want an help regarding my router wireless one. Some days back i bought Linksys WRT160N wireless router. I have got bsnl india 256kbps plan. I usually downloading so many things from uTorrent but no it seems to be blocked or doesnt gets much speed. I checked the windows firewall and the routers one its all disabled. But then also the uTorrent doesn’t responds much, but when i connected directly from modem no problems it works properly and also i get almost 30kbps speed for torrents. So help out from this problem.I didnt get much speed (very low speed) when i connect my WRT 160N but its firewall and all are disabled. So kindly help me to get rid of the problems. I posted this problem from so many sites nothing finds good so plz do help me in this matter…. Plz mail to me regarding this problem

Hi ,
My PC shows a different color(Very Bright) display.I tried using the monitor for another CPU ,it worked fine there.I am not able to view pics/Video due to this.
I tried chnging the display settings in windows and in the monitor too, but that dint help.Could it be the virus causing this?I was told by a Techie that my PC is affected by virus.

I have purchased a Dell Studio 15 off the shelf. I needed something fast and Dell was running way behind…I missed some features in doing so but overall am very pleased - great value for the price. However, 2 problems I can’t seem to resolve..1. touchpad seems to freeze up for no apparent reason - just stops working - but if I wait, it eventually comes back and I am able to move cursor again. 2. Can’t seem to get enough volume to hear many online videos such as You Tube, CBS news etc….have gone to 4 different sites for example to hear Katie C interview Palin and can’t hear any of them ! I have checked settings and all seem to be at maximum volume…something I’m missing?

Sir,
USB ports of my home PC is not providing enough power for my USB Webcam,USB KBoard and Mouse,along with USB internet dial-up device.
PC have only two ports and I am forced to use only two at a time.If I use multiple USB port device connected to one of above said ports,then the connected devices will not work due to power failure.(This was noticed when I connected USB HDD)
Can I introduce another USB panel in the PC as to use all my USB based devices.

I have a SATA hard drive (250 GB) and it works properly, and I? also I had an old Hard Drive (its IDE and has 80 GB capacity). when I connected the IDE hard drive with the CD ROM Cable, windows detected it, but there is only 33 GB of 80 GB shown. I checked the Capacity size in DOS, VISTA and XP, and the same amount was shown. I did checked for bad sectors (there wasn’t any) and had formatted it in DOS but I still can see 33 GB of 80 GB of it.

Hi there,
I have a Nokia E 71 with firmware version : 100.07.76.
I try to connect to my laptop having Windows Vista Ultimate with SP1,through the data cable provided. The mobile prompts me to select the mode, but after i choose the Mass storage mode, nothing happens?.
I have tried syncing through Nokai pc suite and have updated the cable drivers too. But to no avail.
Why is this happening. I wonder if this is happening to others too?
Kindly suggest an option. My hardware cannot be damaged right? It detects the connection on my cell. But afterwards, nothing else.

we bought a sandisk 8gb for my nokia 5610 and didn’t have any problems until the battery completely drained. now none of our chargers will charge it up at all. the charging screen that usually comes up when the phone is off and charging won’t even come on. we thought it was the phone so we put the 8gb in another 5610 and now the same thing is happening. i found out that i probably needed to update my phone for the 8gb to be compatible but now i cant even get the phone to come on so i can update the firmware on it. any advice please?

I have Altec Lansing speakers and subwoofer which were all working fine. Then I downloaded iTunes 8 and setup an iTouch. There was no sound and I had to reinstall Soundmax. Now I have sound with very little volume and huge static. I checked all the settings. It says they are all working fine. I checked cords to speakers and computer. All fine. I connected the speakers to my other computer running XP and no problem. The first computer is running Vista.Any suggestions would be appreciated.I am computer friendly but definitely not a tech.
