ASUS AI Nap and Permissions Error Query
A couple more queries on the Ask-Us page, where you get your hardware related queries solved.
The first one is by Liam :
Do you know what does ASUS AI Nap does exactly?
A pretty short query there! ASUS AI Nap was a feature introduced by ASUS in its motherboards. To put it simply, it is an extension of the Standby feature present in Windows. When you put your PC in standby mode, your PC turns off the monitor and hard disk but keeps the session alive and restores it when you need it. ASUS went a step further and enhanced this feature. It made the PC run in low power consumption mode with the display turned off but hard disk,CPU still running but not in full throttle. This is a great boon for people who need to download a lot of stuff as they can use this feature to lower the power consumption but at the same time continuing with their downloads.
The second query is by Nelie :
I got a big problem.
Recently my computer refused to start up which I think was a hardware problem. After several attempts to repairing it had failed, I had to put out the hard drive on to another PC and managed to retrieve some few documents and most of my VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT documents in one folder are on the same drive but when you try to open them, ACCESS IS DENIED.
PLEASE HELP ME WHAT CAN I DO?
Thanks and GOD Bless.
This problem occurred due to your setting restricted access to your files in Windows so that only you can access them and not other users of the Windows. So when you copied the files to other PCs, they still had permission level set of the user of previous Windows installation, so you could not access them. You need to add the user of your current Windows installation you are accessing them on, for you to be able to view them.
As this is a common problem, Microsoft has put up a support article that guides you step by step on how to add permissions to a file and hence solve the issue. Take a look at it here.

I have a Lite On Blu-Ray DVD player but cannot get Blu-Ray DVD’s to play. I have purchased three software programs that specify that they play Blu-Ray yet they do not see the drive nor the DVD. I can play normal DVD’s on this drive. I have loaded and reloaded the latest drivers from Lite-On.
