Cooling Master Stacker 830On of the biggest decisions when it comes to making your own computer is deciding which case is right for you. There are so many choices to make that it can be a daunting task: should you have a full-tower, a mid-tower, a case with a clear side, and so on and so forth. Hopefully this review will make that decision just a little easier.

When it comes to computer cases Cooler Master is near the top. They produce great products that look cool and perform well. For this review I’m going to look at the Cooler Master Stacker 830. The 830, in my opinion, is one of the greatest computer cases ever made. It provides excellent cooling (five 120mm fans), cool led lights and enough room to store anything you’ve ever wanted in your computer (you could probably fit your energy drinks).

The great thing about this case is that Cooler Master includes a 1000W power supply so you can run those extra graphics cards or the multiple hard drives.

Here are a few of the technical specifications for the Stacker 830:

  • Street Price: around $300
  • 5 120mm case fans
  • 250mm(W) x 536mm(H) x 638mm(D)
  • Supports E-ATX, ATX, m-ATX, BTX, m-BTX
  • nine 5.25″ drives and four 3.5″
  • Real Power Pro 1000W PSU

Things I like
Cooler Master really lives up to their name with this product. With five 120mm case fans the air temperature in this case will stay cool even when you’re doing the most demanding tasks. I also really like the layout of the fans. Four of them are on the side panel (which is a mesh) and the fifth one is on the top. This leads to a really good air flow and will keep your components cool.

I really like the design of this case. From the moment I first saw it I was in love. It mixes a sleek design with an air of mystery with the black finish. The mesh side panel is also a perfect touch since it’s both functional and nice to look at. I like when my case can act like a piece of art. I also like the fact that CM decided to package this case with a 1000W power supply. They realize that the people buying this case are going to load it with power intensive things.

One final thing that I like is how Cooler Master pays such attention to even the smallest details. On most cases where you have a door that covers the front, most of the USB ports are covered when the door is closed. CM thought of this and puts two of its USB ports on the top of the case, and then makes sure that the other four aren’t covered by the door. If you look closely at the top picture you can see those four extra ports.

Things I don’t like
Theres really not much I don’t like about this case. I don’t like the fact that it is massive! I know, its a full-tower case so that can’t really be helped, but it really is huge. Other than that there really isn’t anything I didn’t like about this case.

Pros:

  • Large case, you can fit everything
  • Beautiful design and looks
  • Excellent cooling capabilities
  • USB ports aren’t covered by the front door

Cons:

  • Very large!

Final Thoughts
This is the best case I have ever owned without a doubt. It keeps everything cool, looks good and is actually very quiet (even with all of those fans). If you’re buying a new case I strong suggest this one if you have enough room to fit it. You’ll be able to fit all of the components you need and it could possibly be the last case fan you ever buy.
