Dell XPS 720 HC2

Dell has been producing high quality desktops for a number of years now. My first computer (way back) was a Dell and it lasted me six great years. Lately Dell has been getting into the high end gaming computers and todays review is on one of those high end computers.

The Dell XPS 720 HC2 is one lean mean fighting machine. It features a really nice glossy black finish, led lights inside the case and a 24″ lcd monitor. The XPS 720 comes in two different models and is Dell’s most impressive computer. Unfortunately it is also Dell’s most expensive coming in at just under $5000 for the base model.

Things I like
This is one awesome machine. I’ve been playing Crysis on it non-stop since the game came out and the I must say that the graphic capabilities of the XPS 720 are astonishing. The dual Nvidia cards mean that the frames per second will stay high for even the most graphic intensive games out there. Another thing that I like about the XPS is the glossy black finish. This computer looks very nice when its sitting on top of your desk. Overall this computer screams power and you’ll be able to do anything you want on it.

Things I don’t like
I don’t really like the built in LED case lights, I think that its a little overkill and unneeded for most computer users. The other reason why I don’t like the lights is because they really distract me when I’m trying to do work. The only other thing that I don’t like is the price tag. Over four thousand dollars for the base price is ridiculous. If you’re paying this much you could probably build your own computer with better specs and a lower price tag, but thats just my opinion.

• Case lighting can be distracting

Final Thoughts
The Dell XPS 720 H2C is a well built computer. It’s fast, durable and easy to look at. I personally love the machine. It does everything I need to do (gaming, video editing, etc..) and it does it better than any of the other competition. Unfortunately with such a high price tag it’ll be outside most people’s budget but if you need a high end computer this is the way go.
