EVGA nForce 790i Motherboard
We recently had a question about future proofing a gaming desktop here at Digit Geek. The question was centered around which motherboard to buy that will support all of the latest technologies and is also a great gaming board.
The EVGA nForce 790i SLI motherboard supports all of the latest features like PCIe 2.0, DDR3 RAM, 65nm and 45nm CPU chips and a number of other great features.
EVGA is known for their high quality motherboards and the nForce 790i is no exception, far surpassing most other boards in the field.

Things I like
I really like this motherboard. The first thing that comes to the top of my head is the 790i’s looks. This motherboard has a sleek and sexy look to it with the green and black and it really looks good. The actual board itself has a number of features that will make this board last for a long time.
The fact that theres PCIe 2.0, DDR3 RAM and the support for 45nm CPU’s means this board will truly be future proofed for a number of years to come.
Another thing I like about this motherboard is it’s ability to be fine tuned and overclocked. Nvidia products for a long time have been extremely easy to overclock and this motherboard is no different. Overclocking on the EVGA nForce 790i Ultra SLI motherboard is a breeze thanks to the well organized BIOS and great chipset cooling that NVIDIA has included.
This motherboard also supports 3-way SLI which means you could hook up 3 8800 GTS to here and all of your graphical problems would float away. This is great for any gamers.
Things I don’t like
This board is fairly expensive. If you’re not serious about wanting a high-end machine than you should stay away from this motherboard because you’ll just be paying extra for things that you don’t need.
Pros:
- Future proofed
- 3-way SLI
- DDR3, PCIe 2.0, 45nm CPU
- Very easy to overclock
- Nice design
Cons:
- Expensive
Final Thoughts
In the end, it’s hard to not be impressed by the EVGA nForce 790i Ultra SLI motherboard. This motherboard has a number of great features for anyone needing a high-end motherboard. It is a little expensive but overall it’s well worth the price.
Rating: 4.8 / 5
