The Logitech VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse is an update to the Logitech VX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse. The mouse scores high on portability not only due to its small size but more so due to its tiny wireless USB receiver which Logitech also puts as the world’s smallest USB receiver and oh boy, it surely is small!

The USB receiver when plugged into the USB port, sticks out only by 0.3″. So you can leave it inserted into the USB port without having to remove it. If you do plan to remove it, Logitech has made a provision at the bottom of the mouse to store the receiver.

The VX Nano is of perfect size for people having small to medium size hands, large size hands might find it too small and a bit hard to grip. The ambidextrous design ensures that both the right and left handed people enjoy the same level of comfort unlike the Revolution which was primarily designed for right handed people.

One of the biggest improvements of the VX Nano over the VX Revolution is the provision of the scroll switch at the top rather than at the bottom which makes a lot of sense. You can switch between the ratcheting and the fast mode. The fast mode is useful when you want to scroll through large documents as it automatically scrolls large parts of the page in a single scroll. The ratcheting mode is the traditional scroll mode.

The mouse also has high-precision laser tracking technology which improves the sensitivity of the mouse on different surfaces. It also features a LED which indicates the battery level. According to Logitech, a pair of AAA batteries will last upto 6 months, which is great. You can enhance the battery life by the On/Off button present at the bottom of the mouse.

The Logitech SetPoint software is a great tool to customize the mouse according to your needs. It also lets you assign tasks to the programmable buttons present to the left of the left click button. The best thing about the software is that it is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS X.
