OCZ Equalizer Mobile Gaming Mouse
Computer gaming has been around for ages and almost all popular games are being made for PC’s. Having a fast gaming rig is very important but all gamers will tell you that one of the most important gaming components is the mouse. While there are a number of good gaming mice for the desktops there are very few for laptops. Today I’m going to review a mobile gaming mouse.
The OCZ Equalizer mobile gaming mouse will hold its own when it comes to a good quality gaming mouse. With 2500dpi and a number of great features like the “Triple Threat” button giving gamers the ability to fire 3 times with one click all wrapped up in an ergonomic design, this mouse is sure to impress.
Here are a few of the technical specifications for the OCZ Equalizer:
- Street price: $30-40
- 6 different sensitivity levels
- “Triple Threat” button allows for 3 shots with one click
- 6′ cord
Things I like
Finally a decent mobile gaming mouse! I like to game and while my current laptop isn’t always up to the challenge I’ve always been limited to my mouse. With the OCZ Equalizer I know no longer have to worry about my hardware being the factor of my poor playing. The thing I like most about the Equalizer is it’s “Triple Threat” button (2 in the picture). If you’re playing a FPS this feature will come in handy. Instead of clicking each time you want your gun to fire you only have to click once for every 3 shots that you need. This is going to save wear and tear on the mouse and on your fingers.
For those of you who like your different pressure sensitives the Equalizer allows you to seamlessly change between 6 different dpi settings all the way up to 2500 dpi (1 in the picture). This is a great feature to have and I think OCZ did a really good job implementing it. The software included with the mouse was also very easy to install.
Things I don’t like
The main thing that I don’t like about the Equalizer is it’s long cord. You get 6 feet of cord and since most people sit rather closely to your laptop this can be annoying at times. I found in the heat of battle that the mouse would get caught up in the cord and it did cause me a couple of deaths along the way (in the game of course). I think that OCZ should have provided a cable management system to handle this but oh well.
Pros:
- Relatively cheap
- Great buttons
- Easy to install software
Cons:
- Long cord
Final Thoughts
If you game on the go this mouse is definitely a must have. While it’s not up to the quality of a good desktop gaming mouse it is a little smaller and will work well while you’re gaming on the road. I totally suggest that you pick one up.
