NAS and Mobile Signal Booster Query

The first query is by Dave :

Hi,

i have setup a wireless home network using a belkin wireless router. I recently purchased a 1TB nas drive. When I connect this drive to the router and run the software provided on my PC it cannot find the drive. Do i have to change any settings on the router or PC to allow it to see the NAS????

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There can be many problems which can lead to NAS drive not getting recognised by your wireless router. The foremost thing that you should do is reset the NAS settings of the router to factory default ones. Also connect the drive to the router using Ethernet port and not a USB port. Run NAS setup and assign IP address to the drive and you will be up and running in a matter of minutes.

If this does not sort out the issue, make sure that Ethernet port light comes on when you plug in the NAS drive to ensure the interface works fine. You can purchase a copy of Network Magic to fix the problem automatically also.

How to Connect Two Computers to a Single Monitor

Sometimes in an Office setup or even for personal use, you may need to connect two or more computers to a single monitor. This kind of setup is usually preferable if both the computers are to be used alternately or if purchasing an additional monitor is not feasible.
In such a case you can use a KVM switch to connect two or more computers to a single monitor and control both of them using a single interface.

To create such a setup, you will need
1. A KVM Switch
2. A Monitor, a Keyboard and a Mouse.
3. Two complete Computers with everything in place other than the Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse. Continue reading ‘How to Connect Two Computers to a Single Monitor’
