Review:
The Patriot Xporter XT Boost has a rather boxy design isn’t stylish at all. There is no design to speak of, just a black rubberized body. The name and logo are nicely imprinted on the body in red. The build quality is pretty nice. It feels very durable and sturdy. It has dimensions of 2.9 x 0.8 x 0.4 inches. While it is relatively bulky compared to the super slim pen drives available, it is perhaps amongst the most compact in its category. It is much smaller than the Corsair Flash Survivor. It weighs just about 14 grams. It also comes with a USB extension cable.
It has very nice read / write speeds. It can read data at 22 MBps and write data at 12 MBps. It is amongst the fastest USB drives. It takes about 173 seconds to write a 2 GB file to the Xporter XT Boost and about half that time to copy one from it. This is about all it has to offer, it doesn’t provide any advanced features like portable application suites, backup softwares or encryption. It is totally compatible with Windows Vista’s Ready Boost feature. All in all, it is a very nice option if you need a durable USB drive with good read / write speeds which can accompany you on your outdoor trips. It is available in 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB versions with the 16 GB version priced at $30.
Pros:
- Durable
- Fast Read / Write Speeds
Cons:
- No Extras
Our Rating: 3.5 / 5.
