In this budget, The best Intel based PC in my opinion would be:

2 GB DDR2 RAM
320 GB Seagate / WD SATA HDD
Samsung / Dell / Viewsonic 17″ LCD Monitor
Creative SBS 370 2.1 Speakers
Microsoft Keyboard + Mouse

Optional: Palit Nvidia 9400GT 512MB.

This hardware configuration would go slightly above Rs. 20k but would be well worth it.

The next query is by Ravi,

I am an advertising executive and wish to buy the best mobile phone available under Rs. 25000. It needs to be a professional phone, and needs to look very sleek and impressive. I may even extend my budget to Rs. 30k if need be. I would prefer Nokia phones as I have had 2 bad experiences with Sony Ericsson already. What would you suggest? Also I need to gift a sub Rs 5000 phone to a friend. Need suggestions for that too. Thanking you in anticipation. Ravi.

You have a very nice budget and have a lot of good options. You could also get a Windows Mobile phone or a Blackberry, but since you have specifically stated that you want a Nokia phone, I have just 2 words for you – Nokia E71. It is a superb phone, with great specs and features. It is the ultimate executive’s phone. It has the Symbian OS 9.3 and comes with a nice amount of RAM, a fast processor and a 3.2 MP camera. The other option you have is the Nokia 5800 XM – Nokia’s latest bestseller. It is a touchscreen phone and has the latest Symbian OS – v9.5. It is the best there is in music and videos and has a huge 3.2 inch display. It also has a 3.2 MP cam. You could also consider the Nokia N85 which has a brilliant OLED display alongwith a 5 MP cam and a stylish sliding form factor. It has everything you could want in any phone.
