Bluetooth headsets are slowly becoming a necessity especially for those who can not afford to miss call. The Plantronics Voyager 855 headset combines functionality with ease of use by separating the mono and stereo outputs. Although the price is on the steeper side but its worth it it if you are looking for performance of stereo headsets but want ease of mono headsets.

The Plantronics Voyager 855 is a convertible bluetooth headset which can be converted to a stereo headset by attaching a stereo cable. Hence it allows you both the ease and functionality and you can switch between them easily.
The mono headset unit consists of all the controls and works like a normal mono bluetooth headset. The design of the headset is very sleek and stylish and the silver lining on black body gives it a classy look. The weight is something that you do not need to worry with this headset and you can easily roam with the headset on for long periods of time without having to remove it.
The microphone has an option to activate boom mic for better audio clarity and it can be easily activated by sliding a switch down on the side of the headset. Other keys include mute and volume keys. In stereo mode the mute key acts as a play/pause key. The earphones have silicone form-fitting earbuds of different sizes. The fit of the earphones is extremely comfortable without any discomfort.
The stereo headset can be attached through a cable and looks like a normal earbud and the wire goes behind the neck. The headset has a battery life indicator and has basic controls such as call answering/ending, voice dial support and AVRCP profile support.
The performance of the headset is simply stunning and the voice quality is crystal clear. There was negligible background noise and audio was loud enough to be heard even in noisy conditions. 7 hours of talktime and 160 hours of standby time is great, so you should have no problems on that front.
Pros :
Sleek and stylish looks- Mono/Stereo both options available
- Boom microphone
- Light weight
- Comfortable fit
- Great performance
Cons :
- Side controls tend to slip headset
- Small controls
Final Thoughts
The Plantronics Voyager 855 is an excellent headset at a competitive price. It has excellent performance with both mono and stereo audio outputs. It is extremely light and fits comfortably into the year. It is a great headset to invest in.
