Sony DRU 830A
DVD burners are always a tough choice to make as finding a perfect DVD burner is next to impossible as almost all DVD burners have some problem or the other ranging from incompatibility of media to dismal performance.Sony DVD burners are known for good quality drives and have good reputation among users.

The phones supports all the major formats. The system requirements are modest and the burner is supported with all major operating systems. The face plates can also be changed to suit your cabinet color.Nero 7 comes bundled with the package. 18x is the maximum DVD-R burning speed supported by the writer.
The writer is known to have incompatibility with some brands of media.Lets have a look at its performance. The writer took 20 minutes to burn a 8.46GB Dual Layer DVD. That is an average performance considering some of the Plextor drives write the data much faster. Burning a 700 MB CD took around 3 minutes and 8 minutes for a single layer DVD-R.

- Major formats supported
- Face plates changeable
- 18x maximum burning speed

Cons:
- Average performance
- Expensive

Final Thoughts
Sony DRU 830A is an average performer and does not justify the expensive price tag that it retails at. You will need to search more for your perfect DVD burner.I would not recommend buying this product.
