Sony MDR-V150
DJ style headphones have become fairly popular in the past couple of years, with an increasing number of companies bringing out their own models and takes on the style. The DJ headphones are often very comfortable with fairly good sounding bass and these headphones from Sony are true to that.
The MDR-V150 DJ-style headphones feel very comfortable on your head and feature a very nice sound. The best part about it is that they won’t put a hole in your pocket. The V150 has a number of great features like: reversible ear cups, wide molded headband, precises magnets and an oxygen-free copper cord to produce a better sound.
Here are a few of the technical specifications for the V150:
- Street price: $19.99
- Nominal impedance: 24 Ohm
- Cable length: 6.6 fett
- Frequency response: 18Hz - 22,000Hz
- Sound pressure level (SPL) : 98dB
Things I like
These headphones where the first headphones that I ever got and I still use them today. They feel extremely nice against your head and they sound really good. I would have to say that my favourite thing about them is the feel. The headphones sit firmly against your head and don’t move around that much if you’re being active. The ear pads are a little stiff but its not really a problem. The other thing I like about these headphones is the price. For $20 you really can’t go wrong. While they don’t sound as good as Bose but hey, they’re $200 cheaper.
Things I don’t like
Obviously the thing I like least about the V150 is the sound quality. It just isn’t as high as I would like. At low volumes the bass is really crisp but as you get to higher levels the sound quality deteriorates rather quickly. This is to be expected because they only cost $20. Other than that I really like these headphones.
Pros:
- Very cheap
- Nice feel
- Well designed
Cons:
- Sound quality isn’t the best
Final Thoughts
For $20 you really can’t go wrong. These headphones feel really nice and the quality isn’t that bad. If you’re in need of new headphones but only have a small budget I definitely recommend you pick up the Sony MDR-V150, you can’t go wrong.
