Vista Display Drivers and Mobile Phone Query

We had two more queries from our  Ask-Us section,

The first one by Roshan :

Hi

I just upgraded my pc from xp to vista, when i first my computer it was with xp, my model is Acer Aspire RC500 and i am just wondering where i could find drivers for my pc to adjust the screen resolution which is huge. And is there any way to change screen resolution manually as i cannot change it through appearance menu.

thanks

Roshan,
You seem to have a very outdated Configuration to run Vista. While your processor and RAM may be enough to run Vista, Your Nvidia Geforce 4 MX 400 Video card will not be able to handle Windows Vista’s heavy requirements.
However, you can try installing these drivers from the following link - Nvidia Windows Vista Drivers
If you are lucky, they may work. But we would suggest you to upgrade or roll back to Windows XP.
If the drivers install successfully, change the display resolution by following these steps -
1. Right click on your desktop, Click Personalize
2. Select Display settings and use the slider to adjust the resolution.
And the second query by Jack:

I don’t know which to consider n96 or e90 communicator

and

do u know how to use nokia gps

Jack,
The E90 is a complete business phone while the N96 is a media centric device. Both are the best phones Nokia offers in their respective categories. You need to first decide what features are you looking for.

The E90 is Nokia’s latest communicator and features a QWERTY keypad, and Quick Office preinstalled. It is better for document editing and other office purposes. However it is quite old now and will soon be replaced with a newer phone.

The N96 is yet to be released and is going to be the most feature packed phone Nokia has ever released. It has a big 2.8″ screen, a mammoth 16GB Internal memory and a Dual processor. It also has a better 5MP cam than E90’s 3.15MP. It has a better OS with a refined UI. - The latest S60V3.2 OS 9.3. The other improvements it has over the E90 are A-GPS, a DVBH Receiver, and a smaller form factor. It will also support the NGage 2.0 games and comes with a built in Accelerometer for a better gaming experience. It is much smaller than the E90 and weighs about half as much as the E90 - just 125 gms. It also supports Class 32 EDGE. It also supports Quick Office so it doesnt actually have any major disadvantage over the E90 except for the QWERTY keypad.

Both of them are priced almost in the same range $800 - $1000, so we would definitely recommend you the N96. It is slated to launch in the 3rd quarter of 2008. You can also look at the HTC Touch Diamond if you dont mind switching to Windows Mobile.

Regarding your GPS query, a tutorial has been posted on that topic by our author, Ankur Gupta. You can find it here -  How to use Nokia GPS

Thanks. Keep Asking.
